- HW 1:
- Read the lesson in Deshpande. Familiarize yourself with the rules of reduplication (p. 25 of the Sanskrit Notes handouts). These are the general rules of reduplication which will be useful as well for the perfect, for example. The rule unique to the 3rd class is number 5 on p. 223. Also note the rules specific to the 3rd class on on p. 23 of the Sanskrit Notes handout. Also be sure to go over the 3rd pl. conjugations of the verbs in this chapter as well as the conjugation for धा (and the pp.-s of both दा and धा) to get a sense of the otherwise unexpected forms you may see. Read the exercises with the recording of Deshpande below, using his pronunciation as your model.
