- On the Impf., Opt., Impv. page, watch the lesson’s videos and complete their short quiz.
- On that same page, use the audio recordings (under the Recitation tab) to practice reciting our new paradigms until you have a good grasp of their forms. You should also download those recordings (from the Audio page) and play them regularly on your computer, phone, etc., until you’ve mastered these paradigms.
- On the lesson’s Flashcards page, practice both the lesson’s new vocabulary as well these paradigm’s forms (this is a good way to test your knowledge of individual forms).
- Read through Deshpande’s overview, “On the use of the clitics चित् and चन,” on pp. 94-95.
- Conjugate any 2 Ātmanepada verbs in the Imperfect, Optative and Imperative conjugations to hand in at the beginning of class.
- On the Flashcards page, continue to internalize the lesson’s vocabulary and paradigms.
- Translate at least another 12 lines of the story in Exercise 2 and perform sandhi on that selection (you need only write down the word pairs that have changed in accordance with the sandhi rules you know, not their entire sentence).
- Listen to Deshpande’s reading of the story in the audio recording below and practice reading the Sanskrit with him, focusing on correctly pronouncing retroflexes, dentals and aspirates.
- Translate the first 4 lines of Exercise 3 using all known rules of sandhi.
- Complete Exercise 2 for the remainder of the story.
- Listen to Deshpande’s reading of the story in the audio recording below and practice reading the Sanskrit with him, focusing on correctly pronouncing retroflexes, dentals and aspirates.
